Enhancing Business English Methodologies: A Study and Application in Trilingual Executive Secretarial Training

This project aims to study prevalent English teaching methodologies and apply them to develop a specialized Business English curriculum. By analyzing current teaching approaches in higher education and private courses, a standardized methodology for Business English instruction will be formulated and proposed for implementation in the Trilingual Executive Secretarial Training Course at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV). The goal is to meet students' needs, making them proficient in using Business English effectively. The project includes literature review, surveying existing courses, conducting interviews with teachers, observing classes, qualitative data analysis, evaluation of resources at UFV, and final outcome communication.

  2. DESENVOLVIMENTO DO PROJETO • O Problema e sua importância; • Objetivos; • Estudar as metodologias mais utilizadas no ensino da língua inglesa; • Analisar as metodologias de ensino de Business English em cursos superiores e privados;

DESENVOLVIMENTO DO PROJETO • Elaborar uma metodologia padrão de ensino de Business English; • Propor a implantação desta metodologia padrão no Curso de Secretariado Executivo Trilíngüe da Universidade Federal de Viçosa (UFV). • Atender as necessidades e interesses dos alunos; • Torná-los aptos a utilizar o Business English corretamente.

  4. DESENVOLVIMENTO DO PROJETO • Metodologia • Revisão de literatura e fichamento de bibliografia; • Levantamento dos cursos superiores e particulares que oferecem o ensino de Business English; • Questionários aplicados aos professores destes cursos e de Viçosa;

  5. DESENVOLVIMENTO DO PROJETO • Entrevistas e conversas informais com os professores; • Observação de suas aulas; • Análise qualitativa dos dados coletados; • Análise dos recursos oferecidos pela UFV; • Discussão das conclusões preliminares; • Redação final e comunicação dos resultados.
