  6. REALITY… • Not easier with own class • Context-specific • Unfinished symphony/rock opera • No recipe - trial and error • Grind and challenge of teaching juniors • Developing identity - “authority of experience” • Extreme highs and lows - “emotional landscape”

  7. REWARDS… • Seeing success and learning happening • Affirmation • Sense of getting things right • Strong relationships with students

  8. CHALLENGES… • Workload • New subjects • Assessment • Feeling a burden to others • Managing the classroom - motivation and behaviour • Juggling everything
