CSTAR – Experiences from Past Collaborative Projects and Future Expectations

This document outlines key lessons learned from past collaborative projects involving Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs) during the CSTAR kickoff workshop hosted by Jonathan Blaes in October 2010. It emphasizes the need for more frequent communication and updates between principal investigators (PIs) and WFOs to prevent an "out of sight, out of mind" scenario. Recommendations include structured timelines, regular meetings, and active recruitment of collaborative investigators to ensure ongoing engagement and project contributions. The goals and future expectations for improved collaboration are discussed.
