Conducting a thorough validation review to assess changes, useful physics quantities, and impact on data, simulation, and reconstruction with focus on small and large datasets. Evaluating trickle injection, MC samples, and machine/detector backgrounds for improved physics outcomes.

Charge to the Validation Review The goal of the validation review is to determine: • What changes may be useful in the DQG validation of physics quantities on small datasets (100 pb-1) • What physics quantities would be most useful in the DQG validation of the simulation, with emphasis on what can be done with limited MC samples. • What additional physics quantities would be useful in the validation of data, reconstruction, and simulation on larger datasets (10 fb-1) • Estimate, using run4 data the impact on physics of the trickle injection and of higher backgrounds • Readiness for an increase in trickle injection rate • Translate machine/detector backgrounds into impact on physics The output of the review activity is expected to be: • a BAD with recommendations to the DQG • a released executable that can be used to perform the large-sample validations • a document summarizing the trickle injection/background studies
