    1. PREVIOUS, CURRENT AND FUTURE I&C ACTIVITIES IN OLKILUOTO NPPS

    2. TIMELINE OF THE I&C RENEWALS AND MODERNIZATIONS

    3. ONGOING I&C RENEWALS AND MODERNIZATIONS Turbine automation modernization including Main Control Room changes; OL2 2005, OL1 2006 Increasing capacity of Process Computer System: The old VAX-computers will be replaced with new Alpha-computers during 2005-2006 Renewing of radiation monitoring system during 2006-2007 Renewing of O2, H2 and dew point measurements in RPS during 2006 and 2007

    4. OL1/OL2 TARMO PROJECT TURBINE AUTOMATION MODERNIZATION

    5. Process is not changed. Only changes due to new HP-turbine and HP-heaters are included (project TIMO) SUB-division is not changed Interfaces to other systems are made according to normal approved practise (ex. galvanic isolations) Installation will be made first to the simulator – training of operators and testing System is STUK safety level 4 (documentation to STUK only for information)

    6. TARMO - SCOPE The original turbine plant control systems (Decontic, Turbomat, process controllers) will be replaced with new systems (Siemens TXP) based on programmable technology The traditional control desks will be replaced with desks with work stations (control via screens) Automation functions are not changed. In some cases possibilities of the new technology will be used (starting and stopping sequences of pumps, etc.) The process instrumentation is not changed 42 positioners of pneumatic control valves are renewed

    8. TARMO – PROJECT SCHEDULE Contract 2002 Preparing installations (OL2 and OL1) 2004-2005 Simulator installation (OLKS) 2004 Training of TVO staff 2004-2005 Installation and commissioning (OL2) 2005 Installation and commissioning (OL1) 2006

    9. MAIN CONTROL ROOM AFTER TURBINE AUTOMATION CHANGES

    10. COMING I&C MODERNIZATIONS Renewal of the weather station, 2006 Due to OL3 capacity of the spent fuel storage has to be increased before 2010. This includes also modernization of logic of the fuel handling equipment as well as control of water handling system Temperature sensors (Danfoss RT102 under study) and level sensors in RPS Reactor Automation and Protection System system modernization after OL3 project, estimated 2012-2016

    11. OL3 – CONSTRUCTION PROCESS

    12. OL3 – CONSTRUCTION PROCESS (NOT MUCH I&C YET)
