  1. Survival: Could You Be aBaby Sea Turtle? By Morgan C. and Gabbi H.

  2. Crack! Crack! You are a baby sea turtle coming out of your egg. You’re not alone, because you have 50 brothers and sisters hatching with you. Once you are out of the egg, you know you must fight stay alive. You need safety and food. Choose your first step carefully: Stay with the group of baby sea turtles going toward the ocean. Go off alone and explore the beach a little. Go make friends with a friendly-looking crab.

  3. You swam to eat a clam sitting on the sea floor, but just as you get close, another baby turtle scooped it up. Now you must make a choice about what to do next. Go back to the beach and try to find something else to eat. Snack on a baby sea urchin. Snack on jelly fish .

  4. You decided to explore the beach on your own. You crawl for what seems like forever. You discover a small tide-pool. Inside there are small rocks with algae growing on them. You also notice the shadows of sea gulls overhead, but your belly is growling. What do you do? Make your way to the sand and try to escape the sea gulls. Crawl close to the rock and get a treat.

  5. You climb into the tide pool, and lick the algae off the rock. It was delicious. Lucky for you, your shell blended into the rocks of the tide pool, and the birds don’t notice you. After your quick meal, you have the energy to crawl and join the group quickly. You safely crawl into the waves. Make your next choice: Spot a jellyfish and try to eat it. You decide to rest under a rock. Snack on a baby sea urchin.

  6. You decided to leave the tide pool because the birds were scary. You start to crawl back to the group, but just as you get close, you suddenly feel yourself being lifted off the ground. One of the sea gulls got you. Go back to the beginning and try again. Start over End the game

  7. Far away, you see what looks like a delicious jellyfish just floating through the ocean. It’s one of your favorite treats. You swim close and gobble it up, but then you notice it tasted funny. It wasn’t a jellyfish. It was a piece of plastic, thrown into the ocean by a person who wasn’t careful. Turtles cannot eat plastic and survive. Go back to the beginning and start again. Start over End the game

  8. The crab was waving his pincer at you, and he looked like he was waving He crawl over to say “Hi” and make friends. It’s too bad you don’t know that crabs are meat-eaters, and baby sea turtles are one of their favorite treats. He munches you up. Go back to the beginning and try again. Start over End the game

  9. It’s been a busy day! You made it to the ocean and survived the many dangers that face baby sea turtles. Now you are ready for a rest. You see a hole inside a rock at that bottom of the sea. You crawl inside and take a nice, long sea turtle nap. The End

  10. After crawling a long time, you finally made it to the ocean! The waves wash over you. You notice that not all of your brothers and sisters made it. That makes you sad, but you still have to eat after your long trip across the sand. Choose your meal now. Swim to and eat the jelly fish you see about ten feet away. Swim to the clam on the ocean floor about five feet away.

  11. You duck down deep in the sea grass and scoop up a sea urchin with your powerful jaws. He was tiny, but so was your belly, and now you’re feeling pretty full. Choose what to do next. You decide to rest under a rock. Spot a jellyfish and try to eat it, too.

  12. Thanks for playing!
