  1. Welcome to 6th Grade!!You are now a Ruby Knight at Arms! Come in, find a seat and sit down quietly. Please leave any class supplies you have at your desk. I will ask for them later. 2. Complete the list of questions on your desk. If you need to sharpen your pencil, you may do so at this time. Please write your name to the top of your paper before you begin. 3. When you have finished, please begin working on the word search, “Summer Activities” while you are waiting for class to begin. 4. If you finish both of these activities, sit quietly and wait for instructions.

  5. “Who Am I?” On the index card, write down 4-5 sentences about yourself. DO NOT write your name on the card. When everyone has finished their statements, I will collect the cards. You will then get in groups of 3-4. I will give each person a card. As a group, you will try to figure out whose card you have. After about 5-10 minutes, each person will take turns reading their card aloud, revealing you they think the riddle describes.

  7. “All About Ruby Knight At Arms” Rules Behavior Plan Your behavior will be recorded daily. The information recorded will be transferred into your Friday folder weekly. Friday folders are sent home on Thursday afternoons and returned on Fridays with a parent or guardians signature. However, if you are to exceed 3 reminders about behavior a day, parents will be contacted immediately. A note will be sent home on that day and you will be expected to return it the next day with a signature. This is your WARNING. If notes are NOT returned after the second day of receiving them, you will receive a phone call. If you receive more than 3 notes, you will then be sent to Mr. Patrick. • Bring ALL materials and be ready to LEARN daily. • One person speaks at a time.   8. Class Procedures Sharpening Pencils: Pencils should be sharpened from 7:40-7:55am and at the beginning of 2nd and 3rd block. You will have 3 min to be ready to be working once you enter the classroom. Pencils ARE NOT to be sharpened during announcements or while the teacher is teaching a lesson or talking. Gum and Candy: Gum is NOT allowed at CMS. Candy may be given as a reward, but is not to be eaten without permission. Library Books: Students are expected to have a library book with them at all times in class. It should always be at your desk. Coats and Bookbags: All bookbags and outdoor (heavy) coats are to be left in your locker. If you are cold natured, you may bring a light sweater, sweatshirt, or jacket to wear in the classroom. Dismissal: The TEACHER will dismiss students, not a bell or a clock. Hallways: Hallways are SILENT and students should always be on the right side of the hall.

  11. Knights at Arms Shields(You will be creating a collage of yourself.) 1. On the top of your shield, write, draw, and/or decorate your name. 2. Think of 4 things about yourself (ex: favorite colors, favorite holidays, favorite subject(s), things you enjoy doing, your birthday, something interesting about yourself, a sport you play…) 3. In each box, draw a picture (you may add words in the boxes too if you choose) of the things you chose to decorate your collage.
