  2. Home OwnershipFinding the right home! Task:Use the internet to shop in HRM for a home. Here are two great sites to use: Viewpoint Realtyhttp://www.viewpoint.ca/ MLS Listings http://www.realtor.ca/index.aspx?cul=1 Have fun viewing properties and narrowing down where you want to live and what home you would like to buy. (Be sure to take the virtual tours and note the selling price!) Record the information for this assignment and make a statement about what you learned.

Home Ownership(The cost of owning a home.) • Now that you have found a home, how much will it cost? • Go to the Royal Bank’s Mortgage calculator and ‘plug-in’ the information needed to find out things like your monthly payment and how long it will take you to pay off. • https://www.rbcroyalbank.com/cgi-bin/mortgage/mpc/start.cgi • Record the information for this task and make a statement about what you learned.

  4. Investing for the futureRRSP’s(Registered Retirement Savings Program) • We all want to build/grow our amount of money. One way is to invest your money in an account that will earn a high interest. One type of account is a registered retirement savings plan (RRSP). • Use the Royal Bank’s RRSP calculator to explore how much money you would like to have when you retire, what age you want to retire, and how much you need to invest to make this a reality. • http://www.rbcroyalbank.com/products/rrsp/rsp-matic/launch.html • Record the information for this task and make a statement about what you learned.

  5. Car OwnershipFinding the right car! Task:Use the internet to shop in HRM for a car. You could search local dealerships or go straight to car manufacturers websites(ex: Honda.ca, audi.ca, etc.) Have fun narrowing down what vehicle you would like to buy and drive. Be sure to record the make, model, and price of the car.

Explore car financing with a loan calculator • Expectations: • Complete each task above by following the PWPT slide directions. • Record detailed findings for each stage • Make a statement about what you learned at each stage. • Hand in an organized summary of the above (use 2 sides of 1 sheet of white paper to present findings)
