  2. Our Patient: • Anthropologist • Just returned from New Mexico • Diarrhea • Abdominal Pain • Fever • Protozoal Cysts • Motile Trophozites

Questions We Would Ask: • How long has he been experiencing diarrhea? • Are his stools bloody? • Does he have any other symptoms? • Was it possible he drank contaminated water? • Where his living conditions in New Mexico sanitary? • Has he been around others with similar symptoms? • Is he taking medications?

  4. The Suspects: • Giardia lamblia • Dientamoeba fragilis • Salmonella • Cryptosporidium parvum • Blastocystis hominis
