  1. It’s All About CertaintyRomans 8:1-39

  2. It’s all about VictoryWe Have The Spirits PresenceRomans 8:9-11

  3. As we leave chapter 7 and have been made aware that sin comes to the believer naturally. Doing good is an unnatural thing in God’s creation since the fall of man.

  4. Paul’s explanation with the believer's struggle with Sin leaves us looking for a word Hope. We find this Hope in chapter 8

  5. As a child needs a mentor we ourselves as one of God’s children need someone to teach the ways of God. That someone is the Holy Spirit.

  6.  Paul has been moving us forward to introduce to us to the Holy Spirit but many of us know very little about the one that dwells in us all that have trusted Christ Jesus.

  7. We as believers need to be willing to allow God to teach us that we can avoid sin by being lead away from sin instead of hovering around sin as we act helpless to defend ourselves.

  8. We have the Spirit’s presence in Romans 8:1-11 in Christ. God broke the fetters of bondage to sin and death thus making believers feel assured that there is no condemnation. The Spirit enables Christians to please God and to say no to the fleshly temptation of ourselves.

  9. 9But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you. (And remember that those who do not have the Spirit of Christ living in them do not belong to him at all.)

  10. Paul is telling us as believers that we sure do live in our flesh, made out of flesh, but we are not to be controlled by our flesh. We don’t have the strength to defeat sin’s pull in our lives, but the Spirit gives us strength to flee when sin comes our way.

  11. What a difference it makes in your body when theHoly Spirit lives within. You experience new life, andeven your physical body takes on a new dimension ofexperience.

  12. When evangelist D. L. Moody describedhis conversion experience, he said: “I was in a newworld. The next morning the sun shone brighter andthe birds sang sweeter … the old elms waved theirbranches for joy, and all nature was at peace.” Life inChrist is abundant life.

  13. The Holy Spirit guarantees that we have the sufficient power to be over comers of the temptation of our flesh.

  14. The Holy Spirit clearly enters the believer at the point of believing in Christ. This is evidence by the struggles we have against sin. Those who show not struggle gives prove that they or not converted by Christ.

  15. A life that is pleasing to God must be lived in the power of the Holy Spirit. As Paul said to the Ephesian believers, “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit” (Eph. 5:18).

  16. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in the regenerated life of a believer, delivering the believer from the power of sin—even in the very presence of sin—and performing all God’s will in the life of the believer.Dr. J. Vernon McGee

  17.  I Corinthians 3 16Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?

  18. Romans 8: 10And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. 11The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

  19. The sinners who are in Christ have been Justified and set free from the control of sin. Christian’s can experience God’s ultimate goal that is to live a righteous and Holy life free from sin and this can only happen when you die to self and then sin’s control will be broken.

  20. He is saying here that you and I are in Christ, and since we are in Him, when He died, we died. And we are to reckon on this, as we have already been told. Also we are to yield, that is, present our bodies to Him. McGee, J. V.

  21. Upon his death on the cross when we accept this fact and believe, we are then seal by the Holy Spirit and the promise to fulfill his will and complete us for all eternity. We will struggle with sin but thank God He has quickened our bodies and made us alive in Christ Jesus. Praise God.

  22. Next time we meet we :Have the Spirits GuidanceRomans 8:12-17
