SafeBaby – System Overview • Server based system • Windows PC / Server – Central Database • PC Workstations • Enter Mother/Patient Data • Print Labels (Milk Bottle, Feeding, etc.) • Enter in Scheduled Feedings • Run Reports • Administer System • Dispose of Milk Bottles • Hand Helds • Receive Bottles • Record and Validate Feedings • Dispose of Milk Bottles

SafeBaby – System Overview • Networked Solution • Assumes Wireless Network is Available • We can also supply wireless • PC / Workstation Connections • Networked Label Printer(s) • Database can reside on MySQL or MS-SQL • Can use Existing SQL Database if available • Reports/Frontend Written in MS Access • ODBC Data available to Crystal Reports • Connectivity to Hospital Systems Optional

SafeBaby - Process • Set Up of Patient Data Prior to Feeding • Mothers are entered into the system • Babies are entered and associated to the Mother • Handles Multiple Babies per Mother • Bottle Labels are issued to the Mother • Unique Number for every label • Corresponds to the Mother • Clinical Feedings are Entered into the system • Unique Number for every feeding

  6. SafeBaby Hand Held • Requires User Login and Password • Validated against Database Real time (Wireless) • Users to change Passwords per HIPPA Guidelines • Wireless Security to meet HIPPA Guidelines for data encryption

  7. SafeBaby – Milk Tracking • Milk Receipt • User Scans Bottle Bar Code • Mother is known as labels were issued to her specifically • User Enters Date / Time of Pump • Milk Movements • User Scans Location of bottle • IE: Staging, Room, Refrigerator, Shelf, etc. • Milk Disposal

SafeBaby - Feeding • Feeding is Managed through Workstation • Uses your number or unique number is assigned • User can enter amount for each feeding • User Logs on to Hand Held - User Selects Feeding Option • User selects the baby to be fed through drop down • List can be narrowed down to Floor or Room • Displays Patient Information • Picture is optional

SafeBaby - Feeding • User Scans barcode on bottle • Validated against Baby’s Mother • User Scans Feeding Label • Validated against Baby • User Scans Syringe • Validates against the amount to be fed • Users Scans Baby Bar Code • If number is unique (can’t be scanned else where) Scan is sufficient • If NOT unique, a Bedside PIN # may be required • Label or Patient Ankle Band

  10. SafeBaby - Feeding • Enter Amount Fed • You decide Unit of Measure • Consume Bottle • Can not be used again

  11. Reporting • Every Bottle and Feeding is recorded • Feeding by Patient • Bottle Inventory by Patient or Mother • Activity by User • Custom Reporting is easy • Open Database for 3rd Party Reporting Software • Crystal Reports, etc.
