Behavior Be Respectful • Enter and leave the room quietly. • Raise your hand and wait to be called upon. • Listen respectfully to the teacher and to other students without interrupting. • Treat others the way you want to be treated. • Say “please” and “thank you.” Be Responsible • Place personal property where your teacher directs. • Do not touch other people’s property. • Follow directions. • Come to school every day, on time, with your homework completed to the best of your ability. Be Safe • Walk. • Keep walkways clear. • Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. • Get permission before leaving your seat or the room.

Schedule/Rotations 8:15-8:40 D.O.L./ IWT 8:40-9:45 Mathematics (Monday Science) 9:45-10:15 Treasures Reading 10:15-10:35 RECESS 10:35-11:40 Continue Reading 11:40-12:20 Writing 12:20-1:00 Lunch 1:00-1:45 Social Studies / Health 1:45-2:34 Arts / P.E. Additionally we have: Library/ Computer Lab (E/O Monday) Psychomotor (Mon).

  6. Grade For elementary schools, LAUSD uses a 4-3-2-1 grading scale. The breakdown is as follows: 4 Student does all that is required and much more 95-100% 3 Student does what is required 71-94% 2 Student has partially done what is required 55-70% 1 Student has not completed what is required below 55%

  7. Field Trips • Getty Museum Friday, November 21st (bus grant) • Natural History Museum TBA • Santa Monica Peir Aquarium TBA Chaperones are chosen via lottery from submitted forms. You may only chaperone once unless I have no other parent volunteers.

  8. Homework Policy Homework Assigned Monday - Thursday Students receive Language Arts and Math daily. • Due the following day • If missed, work must be completed at recess in study hall. • Student receives a negative dojo.

  9. Independent Study Skills • Students need to come to school prepared • Students must use the planner provided • Encourage students to bring home required materials • Go over graded tests with student • Students should study for tests. • Use study guide • Make flashcards • Practice quizzes • Assist your child in studying *Use websites to get more ideas for strategies to study

  10. Birthdays • In addition to singing to each student, I give each student a bookmark, pencil, and sticker. • Sorry the school policy is that you may not send in any type of goodie or gift for a student’s birthday.

  11. Donations Not required, but appreciated. Disinfectant wipes (Clorox, Lysol, etc) Jelly Belly jellybeans Goldfish Graham Crackers Gummy bears/worm Thank you to those who have already donated items!
