  3. What is European Parliament? • Directly -elected EU body • Oneof the largest democratic assemblies in the world • 754 members • Members are elected once in every five year

  4. The Presidents • First President was Paul Henri Spaak • From Belgium • Now the President of European Parliament is Martin Schulz • He was elected on 17 January 2012
