  1. Is it good to be alone? It wasn’t for Adam!Gen.2:18 I’ve heard some people say that they prefer to be alone; or that they prefer to be with animals than people. Such probably says more about them than it does “people”. Perhaps if the animals had a choice in the matter, they would indeed be all alone! Circumstances of life may require us to be alone at times, cf.1Cor.7:11,26,40.

  2. Is it “good” to be alone? • “Yes,” if: > You’re spending time in prayer, Mt.14:22-23 Congregational and family prayer is great, but we all need time to be “alone” in prayer. > You’re thinking, meditating, or contemplatingon things spiritual, Phil.4:4-8; Heb.10:24. These things take time “alone.” > You’re busy about the work of “carrying your own load”or “examining your own work,”Gal.6:3-5. Good work and good introspection often takes time “alone.”

  3. Is it “good” to be alone? • But “No,” if: > You’re being “left alone”as a “blind guider of the blind”!Matt.15:14 You may be all alone because you have abandoned Truth on some point of understanding or application. If you’re all alone out there, know why! > You’re alone because you didn’t chose the “good part”Luke 10:38- 42. If you’re the only “Christian” doing whatever it is, it may well be that there’s a reason!

  4. The Truth about being Alone: • If we’re doing right according to God’s Word, we’re never really alone, Rom.11:1-5 Even if no man or woman stands with us in doing right, Jesus and the Spirit always will, Rom.8:12-19. • “Yes” we can be right alone; we can live alone; we can even be saved alone, if our faith is strong. But, our faith can do none of those things for us if it is “alone”!James 2:17, 26 Whether or not you’re alone is not crucial to your salvation, but your faith cannot save you if you leave it alone!
