  2. Life history/habitat characteristics • Diet: many fruit from the rainforest trees • Size: 4-5 feet tall, 66-168 lbs • Habitat: Tropical and Subtropical Moist Broadleaf Forest • Prey • Lives in tropical rainforests • Needs trees and vegetation to live because it is a herbivore

  3. Interesting facts • Is a solitary animal except for when they feed • Females normally have young • Play a vital role in the spreading of seeds • 1 offspring at a time every 9 years

  4. Why is this animal endangered? • Over hunting/poaching • Burning of habitat for farmland
