• You went to the mall and purchased a shirt and pair of shorts. The shorts cost \$14.35 and the shirt cost \$8. How much money did you spend? (don’t worry about including tax)
Lunch at the Mall
• For lunch you decided to buy your friend lunch because she went shopping with you. The pizza was \$12.73 and each soda was \$1.05. How much money did you spend when you bought lunch for the two of you? (don’t worry about including tax)
More Time at the Mall
• When you bought the shirt and shorts yesterday at the mall, you had \$50. How much did you have after you bought the shirt and shorts? How much did you have after you bought lunch?
