  1. The solar system There are nine planets in the solar system and they all spin and rotate around the sun By chloe Atkinson

  2. The easiest way to remember all the 9 planets My-mercury Very-Venus Easy-earth Method-mars Just-Jupiter Speeds-Saturn Up-Uranus Naming-Neptune Planets-(dwarf planet)pluto

  3. mercury • Mercury is the nearest planet to the Sun and the second smallest in the Solar System • NUMBER OF MOONS · 0 • Journey time · 5.5 Earth months1 Mercury year · 88 Earth daysContacting home · Time lag = 920 secondsMake sure that you are ready for all conditions. Mercury has the widest temperature range of any planet in the Solar System, from a chilly -173°C at night to a sizzling 350°C during the day.

  4. Venus • The second planet from the Sun and the Earth’s nearest planetary neighbour • NUMBER OF MOONS · 0 • Journey time · 3.5 Earth months1 Venus year · 225 Earth daysContacting home · Time lag = 1000 seconds • Make sure that your spaceship has full thermal insulation, otherwise Venus' dense atmosphere will cause the hull to overheat as it enters the atmosphere.

  5. Earth • The third planet from the Sun, placed between Venus and MarsOne Earth year · 365.26 Earth daysPopulation · 6.4 billion humans • NUMBER OF MOONS · 1 • The only planet in the Solar System where life has been confirmed • Visit the ancient ruins of human civilisations • Enjoy the best night life in the Solar System

  6. mars • The fourth planet from the Sun, just past the Earth. Often called the 'Red Planet', due to its vivid colour. • NUMBER OF MOONS · 2Journey time · 5.25 Earth months1 Martian year · 2.11 Earth yearsContacting home · Time lag = 25.4 minutes • 2 moons are called-Phobos and Ivuna

  7. Jupiter • Unlike rocky worlds like the Earth, Jupiter is composed almost entirely of gas. Inside this swirling ball of gas lies a small core of solid rock.ntacting • NUMBER OF MOONS · 63 • Journey time · 18 months1 Jovian year · 11.9 Earth yearsContacting home · Time lag = 76.5 minutes • The fifth planet from the Sun and the biggest in the Solar System

  8. SATURN • The second largest planet in the Solar System, sixth in line from the Sun. • NUMBER OF MOONS · 60 • Journey time · 29.4 Earth months1 Saturnian year · 29.5 Earth yearsContacting home · Time lag = 159.4 minutes • Saturn is a 'gas giant' planet, like its larger neighbour Jupiter. Although it's not as brightly coloured as Jupiter, the planets have a very similar composition. The atmosphere, mostly hydrogen and helium, with traces of simple compounds, spins around the planet.

  9. Uranus • The third largest planet in the Solar System, and the seventh planet from the Sun. • NUMBER OF MOONS · 27 • Journey time · 8.5 Earth years1 Uranian year · 84.0 Earth yearsContacting home · Time lag = 319.5 minutes • The atmosphere is mostly hydrogen and helium, with small quantities of methane. It's the methane that absorbs the red light from the Sun's ray, giving the planet its distinct blue colour.

  10. Neptune • The fourth largest planet in the Solar System, and the furthest from the sun. • NUMBER OF MOONS · 13 • Journey time · 12 Earth years1 Neptunian year · 164.9 Earth yearsContacting home · Time lag = 8.26 hoursNeptune's vivid blue colour is a mystery. No one knows the identity of the light-absorbing chemical that creates.

  11. Pluto(dwarf planet) • Formerly the smallest planet in the Solar System. In August 2006 the International Astronomical Union redefined the term 'planet'. Now Pluto is classified as a dwarf planet • NUMBER OF MOONS · 3 • Before its reclassification, Pluto was the furthest planet from the Sun. From the surface of Pluto, the Sun is so tiny it looks like a bright star in the sky. Pluto is very small, only half the size of Earth's moon. • Journey time · 8 Earth years1 Plutonian year · 248 Earth yearsTime lag · 7.93 hours

  12. What is in the solar system • The solar system consists of 9 planets 62moons,comets and thousands of asteroids! • There are solid and gas planets • There are many amazing facts about the earth click the box for more fun facts about the planet earth! click here

  13. Earth facts! • The earths core is made of molten metals. • earth’s moon is the only extraterrestrial object on which humans have walked on. As there is no wind or rain on the moon the footprints left there will remain visible for ,millions of years. The moons gravity causes tides in earths oceans and seas to rise and fall. • Light from the sun takes 8minutes to reach earth!

  14. mercury Mercury the different temperature between night and day can be ad much as 600*c

  15. mars Many more missions to mars are planned and the first human may land there bye 2020
