  2. Love of food from a young age Got an A* in my Scone Project in Food Technology class at high school Teacher said no-one-had ever got an A* before! Enjoyed Food Technology lessons, I opted for work placement in a catering establishment It all began with scones……..

  3. Got placed at a café in Morrison's Last minute could not take me-insurance Very disappointed School wanted to place me at a vets! Again last minute local Beefeater and Travel Inn gave me a placement in the kitchens Enjoyed every minute Did work experience October 1998 Employed part time by January 1999 Work Experience

  4. After GCSEs enrolled at Wakefield College for a GNVQ in Hotel Management incorporating 2 NVQs Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking and Food Service. Loved every minute Great work experience opportunities from placements in France to National Events Great opportunities offered by college especially within work experience Carried on with my part time job as a kitchen porter, whilst at college and undertook extra shifts over the holidays Learnt lots from my job and was allowed to start preparing food the more experience I gained My Career had begun

After gaining a distinction in my GNVQ and knowing I had a passion for the industry I applied for university In the meantime I had moved from just working in the kitchen at the Beefeater to front of house as well, further developing my skills. Accepted a place at Sheffield Hallam University My Career Progressed

  6. Offered fantastic opportunities Carried on my part time job as a waitress and chef at the Beefeater Work Placement Year was a huge success Became licensee at 21 at the Beefeater I had worked in since I was 16 Won the Young Guns Award for Work Placement University studies and encouragement of work placement set me in good stead. Had part time employment as a receptionist Gained 2:1 in BSc Hons Hospitality and Catering Degree University

Graduate Placement with Mitchells and Butlers Fantastic opportunity arose with Whitbread Helped to open and develop and recruit for a brand new hotel being built Great experience Another fantastic opportunity arose Work with Springboard and help support and encourage others to join the industry and promote as a great place to work After University

Customer Relationship Manager Manage 9 of our 60 Business Partner Agreements all hotels national and international My accounts include: Accor City Inn Hand Picked Hotels Intercontinental Hotel Group Malmaison and Hotel Du Vin Principal Hayley Hotels and Conference Venues Ramada Jarvis Thistle and Guoman Hotels My Role
