  2. LESSON 1 – YOUR HEALTH TRIANGLE • BELL RINGER!! • In your own words, write a definition of health. • What are some examples of things you do to stay healthy?

  3. What is Health? • A combination of physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being • Good health is often pictured as a triangle with equal sides • Aim to have balance between all three sides

  4. PHYSICAL HEALTH • Stay active, get plenty of rest and sleep, eat healthy foods • Avoid substances such as drugs or alcohol • Balance watching TV or playing video games with being outside and exercising

  5. SOCIAL HEALTH • Get along with others • Work through problems • Be a good listener • Have respect for otherindividual’s feelings and opinions • Build relationships with people you trust • Family • Friends • Teachers • Coaches
