  1. How to use Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 again… By: Zach Thomas

  2. Purposes of Copying a CD • Making a copy of data files for a friend • Copying a Music CD to have one in the car and one at home • To increase to current piracy problem in the U.S.

  3. Required Media • In order to copy a CD you must first decide which CD that you wish to copy. • A blank CD-R disc will also be needed to copy make the copy • CD-R discs can be purchased in 650 or 700 mb capacities.

  4. Copying a CD… 1. Insert the CD to be copied into the CD-RW drive of the computer. In the UMBC computer labs, the CD-RW drive is the only drive available. 2. Open the Easy CD Creator 4 program by clicking on start, programs, easy CD creator 4, and then create CD.

  5. Copying a CD… 3. Select CD Copier from the main menu shown.

  6. Copying a CD… 4. Look under the copy from section of the dialog box to ensure that the text located after Contents is highlighted in green. If not remember to place the CD to be copied into the CD-RW drive of the computer.

  7. Copying a CD… 5. If the above step has been completed successfully click the copy button to begin creating the CD. 6. Pay attention to the next screen that appears which looks similar to this one, and shows the progress as the data is being prepared to be copied.

  8. Copying a CD… 7. After completion the program will then prompt you to place a blank CD-R disk into the computer. Do as is asked to continue. 8. Pay attention to the next dialog box that appears which will show the progress as the CD is being created.

  9. Copying a CD… 9. After successful completion of the CD a dialog box similar to this one will be displayed. Click ok, and then exit the program using the normal windows method. 10. Congratulations you have successfully copied a CD using one of UMBC’s English lab computers.

  10. Please Note: • All media are not created equally, buying the bargain brand CD-R’s will not yield the best results. I prefer to use Memorex or Verbatim. • Also, A helpful hint to avoid buffer under run errors is to make sure that no other programs are running in the background. These programs use up system resources causing the burning process to contain errors.
