  6. 58% of population believes NGO’s to be charities 38% - are meant only for their members 37% - provide certain services 25% - lobby for their interests

  7. 41% of the respondents could not name at least one NGO Caritas 16%; Disabled people org. 8%; 22% are or have been involved in the work of NGO Most are active in sports organizations/clubs 45% say that they are not interested 13% see no point or purpose in participating 38% would prefer non active participation giving the 2% of their taxes to a chosen organization

In 2009 456 000 citizens donated 40 mln LTL (~ 12 mln EUR) to ~ 17 000 organizations Biggest receivers: “Bedu turgus” charity, animal rights organizations, children's’ hospital In 2010 411 000 citizens donated 36 mln. LTL (~ 10 mln. EUR) to ~ 18 000 organizations Biggest receivers: Modern Art Center, “Bedu turgus” charity, animal rights’ organizations
