Global KM (M&E, Information & Communication)

In September 2012, we reflect on our progress in communication and documentation within the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) sector. We've identified major opportunities to enhance our messaging, with a call for examples from projects to illustrate our key themes. With leftover funding, we can produce impactful videos and gender stories. Challenges persist, notably in obtaining research highlights and stories from various basins. Developing science-based materials is vital, as is maintaining regular communication to document our research insights and impact effectively.

  1. Global KM (M&E, Information & Communication) Communication and documentation: Progress so far Opportunities and challenges September 2012

  2. 1. Progress so far (1)

  3. 2. Major opportunities • We have messages now we need examples around these messages from projects • We have some left over funding for Basins Comms to take advantage of for videos or gender stories. Are people willing/interested to get something done by end of 2012? • Opportunities to document and demonstrate what we are doing through WLE. We can take a lead in showing what partnerships, impact is about

  4. 3. Critical gaps/Questions • Very difficult to get research highlights and stories from the basins. How can we improve this. • Developing science based materials from our research is imperative • What can we begin to say about the basins or areas we work in? What have we done? What research insights or impacts have we had. • Can we create a series on impacts or research insights using infographics, video and other alternatives media • How can we stay motivated and communicate more regularly together?
