  2. What is ? • Stands for Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment • An online classroom space • All lecture videos, tests and concept quizzes will be housed there • Password-protected for security • Daily access will help you be successful in World History

  3. Getting to the Site • Our Moodle page is located at http://jcs2.remote-learner.net. • It can also be accessed through Mr. Williams’ SchoolCenter Page. • Looks like this:

  4. Logging In • Username: • First initial • First three letters last name • Last four of your student number • Cody Johnson: cjoh4583 • Password: • First Time: Welcome#1 • Returning User: Password you set before

  5. Click One! • I’m into Moodle now. • I forgot my password/my password didn’t work.

  6. Retrieving Forgotten Password Click here

  7. Enter your school e-mail • School e-mail is Moodle username plus @jcsnc.org • Example: cjoh4583@jcsnc.org

Retrieving Forgotten Password, Step 2 • Go to http://www.gmail.com • Log in with the following: • Username: moodle username plus @jcsnc.org • Example: Cody Johnson, cjoh4583@jcsnc.org • Password: your first four letters again plus your birthday • Example: cjoh0124 (if his birthday is January 24th)

  10. Retrieving Forgotten Password, Step 3 • In your e-mail, you’ll see two messages from “Jamie Lanier.” • If you only have one message, wait a few minutes. • Click the message that says “Johnston County Schools Online Learning: Changed Password” • This message will have your password in it.

  11. Retrieving Forgotten Password, Final Step • Now go back to the Moodle page and login with your user name and password • Hot Tip! Just copy and paste your password into the password box from the e-mail. • Options for remembering your password: • Just keep your password in your e-mail and copy/paste it every time you log in. • Change it to something you can remember (AND WRITE IT DOWN!): • Moodle passwords require : • A capital letter (ABC) • A lowercase letter (abc) • A number (123) • A non-numbericor non-letter symbol (@, #, $)

Concept Expert Challenge Quizzes • When everything else is completed, you can take a concept quiz for a 100 grade in the concept. • For credit, you must make a 100 on the quiz. • You have unlimited attempts, but you must wait 5 minutes between attempts. • You’re timed at 10 minutes per attempt.

  15. Hot Tips! • Log in and do something every day! • Test questions are taken from the quiz question banks. • Quiz question banks are randomized – most quizzes will pull 10 questions from a 30-40 item bank. • More quizzes taken = better chance of doing well on test.
