Welcometo Mrs. Pritchard’s 5th Grade • Parents: • Please fill out the contact information sheet located on the front table (if you haven’t done so before today) • Please have a seat at your child’s desk • Please put your child’s name on the note card. Place it in the bin on the front table to be entered into a drawing to win $25.00 bonus auction dollars for your child!

Purpose of Curriculum Night Inform parents of: • the curriculum covered this year, so parents can assist students at home. • my expectations, so parents can help students be successful this year. • the district’s expectations, so 5th grade parents and teacher can work together to help prepare students for middle school.

  10. Class Room Behavior Expectations 4 P’s: • Punctual: Arrives to class on time and gets to work • Polite: Treats everyone with respect • Prepared: Has all materials and is ready to work • Productive: Completes classwork, stays on task, and follows directions

  11. Homework Policy • Weekly homework packet with the following assignments: • Reading: 30 minutes a night + Reading Log • Math: One worksheet per night • Science assignment Reward = $ on paycheck and Honor Roll free time on Fridays Consequence = 10 sentences, no Honor Roll free choice time

  12. Monthly Reading Goal • 3 books per month at your child’s reading level • 30 minutes of reading homework each night • Each student must read, test, and pass (80% or better) a minimum of 3 A.R. books each month. • Non-A.R. book? Must submit a 1-page written (or 2-page typed) book report • Must make goal to make Honor Roll the last week of the month!

  13. Weekly Paychecks • 4 P’s • Homework • Sent home on Fridays • Due back Monday with parent and student signature for $ deposit.

  14. Classroom Rewards *Bonus $$ given for: • Homework and class work turned in on time • Working cooperatively (Table Points) • Following directions, diligence, good behavior … being a friend

  15. Monthly Auction • I log auction points earned • Convert to play money • Students bid on various items • Students conduct the auction • DONATIONS WELCOME 
