  10. Major IT Services provided by Information Technology Services (ITS) Storage Local and Off-site backups Virtual Server Hosting Local and Off-site backups Service Availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  11. Storage Provides primary file storage for departments through enterprise class NAS. Typically provided through the use of the CIFS protocol and now NFS protocol as well. Virtual Server Hosting Departments can utilize ITS' enterprise data center to house their own servers. A cost effective alternative to operating a departmental server and includes storage and backup services utilizing clustered enterprise class servers running the VMware/ESX virtualization suite.

  12. Virtual Server Hosting (Continued) Virtual server host services include basic operating system installation (Windows or RedHat Enterprise Linux) and patches. For virtual server hosts, memory and disk space utilization is constrained by available resources. Patched on a prearranged schedule in consultation with the departments. Departments are responsible for the applications running on the hosts.
