  2. How It All Started: • Twitter was founded in March 2006 and was created by Jack Dorsey, along with Evan Williams and Biz Stone • Dorsey wanted to create a service where people could update their status to a group of people just by sending a text message

  3. Purpose of Twitter: • People often use twitter to update status’s about what is currently going on in their lives • Many people also follow celebrities and athletes to get information about them instantly

  4. How Twitter Works: Home Page: The home page shows all the recent tweets people you are following have posted on the left. On the right side it shows who you are following and who is following you. Writing a Tweet: The white box under “What’s happening?” is where you type up what you are going to tweet.

  5. Join Today: • Creating an account is completely free • Anyone can join as long as they have an email address • There are over 175 million accounts already made
