Short-Term Enterprise Allowance • 104 PRSI Contributions Paid or • Qualified for Statutory Redundancy from last employment • Introduced from 1-May-2009 • Continue to receive Jobseekers Benefit payment for the remaining duration of JB claim, irrespective of income from self-employment Liam Murphy - Facilitator DSFA Joe Kelly - Enterprise Officer WAP

  4. Back to Work Enterprise Allowance (BTWEA)Qualifying Conditions • in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance or Jobseekers Benefit for at least 12 months – persons on JB must satisfy a means test. (1-May-2009) • in receipt of OPFP, DA, B Pen., CA, FA, Inval. Pen., Incap. Supp., PRETA, W/W Non-Con Pen., DWB and PWA for at least 12 months • in receipt of Illness Benefit for 3 years or more • be setting up a self-employment business which has been approved, in writing, in advance by DSFA Facilitator or Area Partnership Company • periods spent on various schemes/programmes & combined SW payments can count towards the qualifying period. BTWEA – Rates of Payment Year 1: 100% (of previous SW payment) • Year 2: 75% BTWEA payment not liable to Tax or PRSI A person, who previously participated in the scheme and where a 5 year gap exists, can re-apply for the BTWEA provided the new qualification conditions are satisfied.
