Engage your class in an exciting Show-and-Tell activity with a twist! Each week, one student will bring an object of personal significance and hide it in their bag. They will provide three clues about the object, including its shape, color, size, and usage context, while keeping the suspense alive. The rest of the class will ask Yes-No questions to guess the item. After revealing the object, the student will share its story and why it matters to them. This interactive exercise fosters creativity, communication skills, and allows for a fun classroom experience.
E N D
STEP 1 Bring an object you really like or which is important to you and hide it in your bag.
STEP 2 Give the class 3 clues about it • For example, its shape (it’s round, it’s rectangular …), its colour, its size (it’s quite small, it’s tiny…), where you can buy it, where or when you can use it, etc. • Don’t make it too obvious, try to keep up the suspense!
STEP 3 • The class ask Yes-No questions to find out what your object is. • Show your object.
STEP 4 Tell about it! (1min - 2min) • Say what you do or did with it, tell stories about it: « I bought it in…, My parents gave it to me for my birthday, etc »,,say why it is special to you : « it’s important for me because…, I selected this object because… », etc
Organization • One pupil every Monday (beginning of the lesson) • About 5 minutes • This work will be marked by the teacher and 2 pupils selected as jury members (cf criteria)
Evaluation /20 • Respect du sujet (clues, show and tell, questions) / 3 • Correction grammaticale /3 • Correction lexicale /2 • Correction phonologique / 3 • Aisance à l’oral (pas de note, regarde l’auditoire, parle assez fort…)
• Well… • Er…, Mmm • You see… • What I mean… • What I’m trying to say is that… • Laisser un blanc
Interactivité C’est ta capacité à échanger avec les autres en anglais et de manière naturelle et fluide. Pense donc à ne jamais parler en français (repeat please, sorry I don’t understand, can you explain?), utilise les gestes. Pense aussi quand tu feras ta présentation à aider les élèves à comprendre peut être certains mots que tu auras cherchés. Et pense aux petits mots qui aident à sonner anglais. (so, okay, let’s start, next question, etc)
