  3. Technology Challenges - Instructional Issues • Providing appropriate technology & facilities for instruction • Distance Education - the formats • Educational technology for classrooms, labs and libraries • Integrating the Network, Web & Instruction • Training faculty and support staff

  4. Technology Training & Support • Distinguish between support and training • Develop a plan that provides flexibility of response • Provide appropriate level of resources, human, technical, and financial.

  5. Four Support Levels • Level One : Help Desk • Level Two : Referral • Level Three: Training & Special Projects • Level Four : Institutional Review (ITRG)

  6. Key Benefits • Single point of contact • Establishes ownership for problems • Requires the institution to address support & training needs • Builds database for future planning • Allows user to track status • Requires institution to define functions and responsibilities

  7. Training Programs • Training must be flexible to meet user needs & time, especially faculty. • Variety of formats, times, and places • Define the initial level of training needs and be realistic. • Identify necessary resources to support program

  8. SRJC - Training Program Elements & Resources • Coordination & oversight • Human resources • Physical location (C.A.T.E.) • State Funding Source (T.T.I.P.) • Leverage existing resources • Linkage to Help Desk
