How are we going to do the work?Stages of Team Development • Teams evolve over time • Teams go through 4 stages of development* • Forming • Storming • Norming • Performing • The length of each stage varies with the team • Working through all stages is crucial to development of a productive team. *Tuckman, Bruce. (1965). Developmental sequence in small groups. Psychological bulletin, 63, 384-399.

Homework • Read text Chps. 1-3 • Select Topics for Literature Discussions – Worksheet(s) in AETZone • Contribute to discussion board • What is something you found particularly interesting in the readings? • What is something you found disturbing? • What questions do you have? • Work on International Fair Project

International Fair • Work in teams • You may use f2f, email, discussion boards and/or chit chats for planning • Create list of ground rules • How is the group going to operate? • Process (e.g. make decisions by consensus) • Behavioral (e.g. raise differences openly & with respect) • Decide Wow, OK, Ooops (Rubric) • What would be our best project? • What would be an OK project? • What is not a satisfactory project?

  18. International Fair • Work in teams • Determine roles & responsibilities • Each team member will write a brief description of their roles and contributions to the project. These will be signed by the other team members. • At the end of the project the team needs to submit a copy of their ground rules, their rubric, their assessment of their project, and the signed contribution sheets.

  19. International Fair • Create a presentation on one of the following topics: • International Children’s Digital Library • Bologna Book Fair • ASU’s Sister Library Project • International Board of Books for Young People

  20. International Fair • “Poster” session format • Provide food & recipes from one or more of the countries represented. • Include significance of the food & the connection to the culture it came from on the recipe
