  1. Lesson 6-6 Objective: Graph inequalities on the coordinate plane

  2. Steps: 1. Graph the given line – draw lightly 2. If < or > then If ≤ or ≥ then 3. Shading – make sure you have slope intercept form (mx + b) if ≤, < then shade below if ≥, > then shade above

  3. y ≤ 2x + 4 Steps: 1. 2. 3. already in y = mx + b solid line shade below

  4. y < 6 Steps: 1. 2. 3. horizontal line dashed line shade below

  5. 2x + 3y > 6 Steps: 1. 2. 3. put into slope-intercept form: y > -2/3 x + 2 dashed line shade above

  6. x ≥ 2 Steps: 1. 2. 3. vertical line solid line shade right

  7. Your turn:y > ½ x + 3 y ≤ -3x

  8. Your turn:y > ½ x + 3 y ≤ -3x

  9. Assignment: Lesson 6-6 worksheets: Skills Practice # 1 – 9 front, 4 – 13 on back Chapter 6 Test: Wednesday!
