  7. Who are we? What: • The GFBR is the only global platform specifically provided to promote debate on emerging ethical issues in international collaborative healthresearch between developing and developed countries

Aims: • Strengthens the protectionof human participants in international health research • Provides a forum for developing country perspectives on ethical issues in research • Builds capacity for ethical review of research • Encourages long-term joint management of research protocols

  11. Who are we? The GFBR-Secretariat is based on, and operates, a fellowship programme • One part-time Ethics Officer • Two full time fellows • The recipient of the 2007 Fellowship is Xiuqin Wang (China) • Functions: Maintaining the “institutional memory” and organizational continuity of the GFBR and raising funds to extend the Secretariat activities
