  1. Pull U Majiger Madelyn, L 9 Mississippi

  2. Describe the problem you want to solve. The problem is that sometimes you are too tired to get up and go open your drawer in your bedroom. Maybe you had a tiring day practicing sports or just a hard day at school.

  3. Make a list of possible ways to solve this problem. (Sometimes we also add a question like - How have people tried to solve this problem in the past? Think of how you can improve on other solutions.) 1.You could get more sleep. 2.You could make something to open a drawer if that is what you need to open. (That’s what I did.) 3.Also you could just get up and open the drawer.

  4. Draw pictures and diagrams to show your invention and how it might work. These are pages from my Invention Journal:

  5. My invention works by using the long handle, which has a hook. You extend it across the room to the Slot in the drawer and you open it. It’s that easy!!!

  6. Build your prototype. Write down each step so that you will remember exactly how you built your model. 1.I had to think of ideas. 2.Pick an idea. 3.Gather supplies. 4.Start building. 5. We got a stick that was smooth and had a point at the bottom. 6. We shattered a see through hanger to get the metal hook. 7. We used a staple gun to staple the hook on to the piece of wood. 8. The staples were sticking out the other side so we put hot pink duck tape over it. Then I was finished.

  7. Perform some experiments to find out how well your prototype works. Write down the results of each test. Whenever I tested my invention it worked as I expected it to. When I did that I hooked it to the drawer and pulled it worked! After that I decided to let my friends test it on how good it works. Below are my results. My friends ranked my invention using a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the highest on the following things:

  8. How can you improve your prototype? I could improve my Pull U Majiger by making it longer or reach farther. But it works well now too. I could even think about making it wireless so that I could just push a button to make the drawer open. I also need to think about once the drawer is open, how are people going to get what they need?

  9. Give your invention a name and explain why people should buy it. I will call it the Pull U Majiger. And I think people should buy it because everybody gets tired sometimes. Also it is only $3.00.
