Explore which liquid causes the most rust on a nail among rainwater, spring water, and Coca Cola. Conduct the experiment, record data, analyze results, and draw conclusions on nail rusting. The project includes hypothesis, materials needed, procedures, graphing results, and a conclusion. Discover the impact of different liquids on rust formation and understand the significance of chemicals and fungus in water.

Purpose The reason I am doing this project is to see which liquids rusts a nail the most, rain water, spring water, and coca cola. Hypothesis I think that the rain water will rust it the most because at my house I have left my scooter out side in the rain for a long time and it rusted.
The Materials • 9 clear cups • 9 silver nails • 15 ounces of rain water • 15 ounces of coca cola • 15 ounces of spring water
The Procedures First I set out my nine cups and nine nails and filled each cup with Coke, Spring water, and Rain water. Then I placed a nail in three of the cups. Last I waited two days and checked them.
Graphed Results What liquid rusts a nail the most? Signs of rust 3=most 1=least Type of liquid the nail was placed in
Conclusion I think spring water won because it has no chemicals in it and rain water had fungus in it already. My hypothesis was wrong.
Acknowledgements I would like to thank the school for letting us use some of the schools clear plastic cups.
