  2. DHANAK 2014 • This year is going to be Dhanak’s 6th edition. This year we aim to make Dhanak better and grander than the previous editions and make it one of Kerala's best cultural fests.

GOALS FOR THIS DHANAK • Date of Dhanak : 19 – 22 September. • Publicity: Increase emphasis on Online publicity as it is a cheaper and faster way to get coverage over the entire nation. • Finance: Garner a larger amount of money from outside sponsors. Target larger firms and start finance work well before the event during the period may-july. • Participation: Involve more people from colleges over Kerala and neighboring states. Personally publicize fest in colleges within the city.

GOALS FOR THIS DHANAK • Involvement of events such as SPIC-MACAY and workshops on cultural activities not only attracts participation and publicity but also helps in improving the knowledge of one’s identity. • Getting accreditation for IIST MUN. To improve participation and make IIST MUN known on a national level. • Attaching a Social Cause to the fest. This helps IIST to give something back to the society. • Organizing a Successful Pronite in the city.

  5. Publicity • Pamphlets and posters. • Primary focus in kerala, andhrapradesh, karnataka and tamilnadu. • Special attention to online publicity through social media and different online competitions. • Getting media partners. • Asking the websites to mention about dhanak.

  6. Promotional activity • Social cause. • Going to other colleges in their fests distributing pamphlets. • Conducting fun events and distributing prizes.

  7. New ideas • Improvisation event • Street play

New Goals • Getting an accreditation from UNIC • United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan • Will get us nation wide recognition • Will get us more participation from across the nation • Will get us quality speakers • Will put IIST MUN in the league of one of the best MUNs across India • Will make it easier for getting more participation • Will give students of IIST a good learning experience

  10. What will happen after getting accreditationby unic? • They will become our event’s ambassadors • They will advertise our event • They will provide organizational and technical assistance in organizing the event • They don’t provide financial assistance

How do we get accreditation? • Through Young Leader’s Consortium (YLC) • Company started by VarunJhaveri • VarunJhaveri- Member of EB in IIST MUN 2012 • Has represented India and won World Council of Youth, 2014 • A pass out from SRM university, Chennai • Has a long experience of participating in and chairing MUNs across the country • Helps in organizing and getting accreditation for MUNs across the country • Also advertises the MUNs across the country

  12. What will YLC do for us? • Will get us accreditation from UNIC • Will ensure at least 100 participants from outside the college • Will increase popularity of IIST MUN throughout the nation • Will improve the event quantitatively and qualitatively

  14. Idea “Be the change you want to be.” • To reclaim our public spaces. • Find an ugly spot and ‘Spot fix’ it. • Involve the local population, NGOs in the field. • Find a proper garbage disposal unit for the spot. • Make the city cleaner and more beautiful. • Set a Feedback Mechanism.

  16. Dhanak is IIST’s Annual Cultural Fest. With support from the institute we can achieve to make Dhanak a National Level Fest. Regards Team Dhanak.
