Greek Architecture • Many of the United States government buildings were made to look like buildings from Athens, Greece. • The Parthenon is a famous building in Athens that the Supreme Court building was modeled after. • People built buildings to look like those in Athens because that was the birth place of democracy. • Buildings in Athens had the following features: large blocks of marble, columns, and carvings.
