Internet portal “Teaching intellectual property” • A project of the Center for Intellectual Property at UNWE and WIPO DCEA, carried out by employees of UNWE • Center for Intellectual Property (CIP) – a service and R&D unit for the Intellectual Property Department at the UNWE • CIP works on national and international projects in the field of intellectual property

Internet portal “Teaching intellectual property” • Financed by WIPO • Aims at creating a network to facilitate the exchange of academic and R&D information and experience among intellectual property teachers in the countries, covered by DCEA • Time needed to create the portal: approximately 330 man days

  5. Description of the portal • Working language of the portal: English. Russian to be added in the future • Membership in the portal active after confirmation from a registered member and the administrator. • Membership in the portal is subject to a registration regime. • The information in the portal is provided by the registered teachers for the other users and members of the portal • The information is subject to control by a central and regional administrators

Information about universities • The portal includes information about universities from 33 countries that offer intellectual property education • The information includes: description, departments, teachers, courses and educational programs, projects, events, theses, IP-related units (centers, libraries, etc.)

Scientific journal • Articles in English and Russian provided by members of the portal are peer reviewed by other teachers of IP • An article receiving a minimum of two positive reviews is voted in by the members of the portal • An article that receives at least 50 % positive vote is published in the IP Journal on the portal, as well as in the “Intellectual Property – Business and Law” journal, published by the Center for Intellectual Property at UNWE • The result: high quality peer-reviewed publications on current topics of intellectual property

A one of its kind DICTIONARY! • An English dictionary with terms and definitions of the basic intellectual property terms • Offers the possibility of suggesting better definitions • Offers the possibility of suggesting translations into 37 languages: 33 unique languages used in the DCEA countries plus French, German, Spanish and Italian
