  2. Some of Hollywood’s Top A-list actors are now toys. • Stretch Armstrong • Big Wheel • Risk • Transformers • Barbie • Asteroids • G.I Joe • Candy Land • Monopoly • Battleship • Mr. Potato Head

Most toys today even have their own talent agents. • Mattel Inc,’s Barbie was just signed up to star in a live-action feature film by Creative Artists Agency • International Creative Management sparked a four-studio bidding war for a movie starring Asteroids • The William Morris Endeavor Entertainment LLC has signed toy stars such as G.I. Joe and the well known Hasbro game, Candy Land.

  4. Are Toys Taking Over Hollywood? • While stars such as Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler failed to draw crowds, action figures such as G.I. Joe and Transformers ruled the box office this summer • The second Transformer movie grossed over $833 million in the world-wide box office and hit merchandising revenues of $484 million

TOYETIC • A popular question among studio executives is whether or a not a particular project is “toyetic” • This term refers to a concept that can lend itself into a toy, and whether the project will be able to sell tickets and merchandise • No recent project has been more toyetic than Transformers

Future Projects • “Transformers” has paved the way for toy stars and more and more producers are searching for the next big toy • Several projects are currently in the works including movie versions of the games Monopoly and Battleship • There have been numerous calls to The Ohio Art Co. in interest of acquiring the rights to Etch A Sketch for a stand-alone film based on the toy

  7. Future Projects Hollywood directors and actors are both eager to play a part in films starring toys • Will Smith and partner James Lassiter – Risk • Will Smith and James Lassiter – Big Wheel TV show • J.J. Abrams – Micronauts • Brian Grazer – Stretch Armstrong • Ridley Scott - Monopoly

  8. Star Status • The director of Star Trek firmly insists that anyone who now doubts a toy’s success will be soon proved wrong • Mr. Abrams is confident that once these films have been released, no one will question their star status

  9. Business Opportunities • Young audience • Less difficult search for talent • Great films encourage higher marketing business
