  2. On a sheet of lined paper, tell me about your happiest memory of this year so far. Put me in your shoes: What were you doing? Why were you the happiest at this time? Use sensory details: What did you see? Who were you with? Follow a clear timeline (First … then … )

  3. Write at least ¾ of a page about someone you admire (a relative, a friend, a celebrity, etc.). Why does ______ deserve your respect? Is it something heor she did? Is it something about his or her personality? Use specific details in your writing to show how/why this person earned your admiration. How does he/she make you feel? What have you learned from this person that makes you admire him/her?

  4. What must a complete sentence have? • It must start with a capital letter and end with a period [.], question mark [?], or an exclamation point [!]. • It must contain a subject-verb pair • What is a subject? On a basic level, the subject of a sentence does the main action of the sentence • It must express a complete thought.

  5. What is a run-on sentence? A run-on sentence contains two or more independent clauses (complete sentences) withoutan appropriate punctuation mark ( . / ; / ! / ? ) oran appropriate conjunction. “FANBOYS” acronym: For And Nor But Or Yet So

  6. Copy these sentences down in your Vocab./Grammar section then fix these run-on sentences by adding appropriate punctuation OR a conjunction. Turn any sentence fragments into complete sentences by adding the missing subject or verb. i just saw The Conjuring last Saturday it was really scary I hate dolls even more now.   7. Write a 1-2 paragraph character sketchof someone you know really well (a parent, other family member, friend, etc.). Pick someone who you'll be able to describe vividly in detail. Describe this person in first-person point of view.  You may choose to write as the person you are describing, or you can write as yourself describing someone else.  Include dialogue, actions, thoughts, etc. in your character sketch.  

  8. In other words, make sure you SHOWme the character of whoever you choose to write about. Don't tell me this person is sad … SHOW me this person is sad and show me WHY he or she is sad.

  9. Ex. of what NOT to do: "I am happy because it is my birthday and my family is here with me." Ex. of what TO do: "When I see my birthday cake lit up with sixteen candles, I cannot keep from grinning ear to ear. My family starts to sing and I have a hard time not laughing as they go off-key. I can't remember the last time we were all together in one room. I look from face to face and feel the warmth of their affection like the heat of the sun.

  10. TODAY’S DO NOW (1) describe the setting (a mental hospital) in concrete sensory details, (2) describe characters, and (3) indicate a possible conflict that could take place in this setting between these characters

  11. have you read the mortal Instruments book series, its really good. It was to hot outside, we decided not to go to the santamonica Pier. if u like art u should go to the Getty Museum they have alot of old stuff there. Theres like many expensive paintings, it reminds me of that movie oceans 11. Imma tell you a secret. Noone cares wut u think.
