Some noteworthy challenges what you may face in BPA are: Automating redundant processes, Defining complex processes, Staff resistance and Implementation cost. Processes which are not necessary and non-value adding processes and processes where high amount of tacit knowledge and personal judgment is required, are not good candidates for automating as these processes are hard to encode and automate.<br>

Challenges Involved in BPA 1.Automating redundant processes: •Processes which are not necessary and non-value adding processes and processes where high amount of tacit knowledge and personal judgment is required, are not good candidates for automating as these processes are hard to encode and automate. 2.Defining complex processes: •In any organization you will find some processes which are overly complex. Such processes require reengineering that requires significant amount of time to be allocated and spent at this stage in BPA. •This requires a detailed understanding of the complex business process to develop an automated process. 3.Staff resistance: •Staff resistance is the main obstacle to the acceptance of automated processes. •Staff may see process automation as a way of reducing their decision-making power they may also perceive automation as a threat to their job. These factors motivate staff to resist the change. 4.Implementation cost: •BPA involves acquisition/development of automated systems, which incur lot of costs. Also, there is need of specialized skills to operate and maintain these systems. •The cost of BPA implementation is high and hence poses like a challenge. IMPLEMENTATION OF BPA •Business process automation comes with a lot of benefits for business. These benefits in fact work as reasons which motivate a business to go for automation. •However increased globalization and competition are also prominent reasons to go for BPA.
