  1. The Big Story “Where the rubber hits the road” 23rd January 2011

  2. Consider the following dilemma faced by Christian Doctors on a regular basis: ‘A woman in her late teens attends requesting the morning after pill. She is in a relationship, contraception has failed and she is in the fertile period of the month. She is planning to go to college and does not feel ready for a family? What should you do? In your deliberation consider what the Bible says, what the General Medical Council says, what the law says but also what you think her parents (who may, or may not, be Christians) would want you to do? Get into 3s or 4s and have a chat and I will come round in 5 minutes and see what you think.

  3. Bones: the core to our Christianity: Faith, Hope & Love Skin: where our faith meets the outside world: Talents, Behaviours & Decisions Flesh: the vitality to our faith: Bible, Prayer & Fasting

  4. Dilemmas Technology Socialising What do I feel about the internet, what is appropriate to do, what is not – online gambling, chat rooms, messenger? Is it alright to drink alcohol and if so what is the limit beyond which we are sinning? What jokes and stories are Ok and what are not? Should I use Facebook? How should I use it? What should I do if I see comments made by others that I don’t appreciate? What constitutes gossip and what is just talking about someone appropriately? If I go on a stag do, what should I join in with and how should I deal with difficult situations?

  5. Dilemmas Workplace Church What should I do when conversation turns to a subject that makes me feel uncomfortable? How much time is appropriate to spend doing things for church? What should I do if I see something that bothers me with a member? With a leader? When to say something and when not to and to whom? How should I handle a situation where a work colleague blasphemes? Where they lie? Where they mislead a customer? Where they exaggerate? What should I financially contribute to HCC? If I tithe, is this before tax or after? Would this be different I am in significant short term debt? Are there any industries in which a Christian should not work? Clearly yes but what about for a tobacco company, for a betting company, for a loan company?

  6. Dilemmas Parenting Media Should I limit the time my kids watch TV, go on the internet? play computer games? Which computer games? How long? Are there any TV programmes that we should really not watch and not have in our house? Is it ever defensible to watch an 18 film? A film with the ‘F’ word in it? How do I cope with the influences of everyone else’s parenting? What constitutes operating trust and allowing flexibility to grow and when does it become too much risk? What is appropriate language for me to use around my kids and what is not?

  7. Dilemmas Faith Is it alright to doubt? And if so how much, how often and what do I do about it? Can God change His mind? Is everything predestined or only some things and if so what? Can a Muslim ever go to heaven?
