Alongside traditional banking operations the Group provides an ever widening range of financial services including: Leasing facilities, Factoring, Brokerage services, Insurance, Investment Banking, Private Banking, and Custodian services. • The Bank maintains international presence with Representative Offices in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kyiv and Sandton South Africa and a fully owed subsidiary in Hong Kong. • In 2010, the Group is expected to commence full banking operations in Russia through its fully owned subsidiary Limited Liability Company Commercial Bank “Hellenic Bank”. • Hellenic Bank Group commenced operations in 1976 and in relatively short period of time it established itself as one of the biggest banking and financial institutions in Cyprus. Hellenic Bank shares are listed on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. • Today the Group enjoys a network of 72 branches in Cyprus and 27 in Greece while employing over 2,000 people locally and abroad.   3. 1976: The Bank begins operations with a branch in Nicosia and 33 employees. • 1985: The subsidiary company, Hellenic Bank (Finance) Ltd, is founded, providing asset finance. • 1986: The subsidiary company, Hellenic Bank (Investments) Ltd, is founded, providing investment services. • 1990: The Insurance Services Department is founded, representing a number of insurance companies offering a wide choice of insurance products. • 1990: The Bank establishes the first of its kind International Business Center (IBC) in Limassol, Cyprus. • 1996: The Group dynamically expands its operations by acquiring the onshore facilities of Barclays Bank PLC in Cyprus. • 1997: The Limassol International Business Centre achieves ISO 9002:1994 Quality systems Certification for the whole of its operations, the first centre in Cyprus to achieve ISO certification on its Banking operations. • 1998: The first branch of Hellenic Bank opens in Greece, in the prestigious Kolonaki area of central Athens.   4. 1998: Opening of Representative Offices in Sandton, South Africa and Moscow, Russia. • 1999: Acquisition of the Ledra and Pancyprian Insurance Companies. • 2000: In partnership with American Life Insurance Company (Alico AIG Life), the Bank launches Hellenic Alico Life Insurance Company Ltd for the provision of banc assurance products. • 2003: Voluntary adoption of the Corporate Governance Code as issued by the council of the Cyprus Stock Exchange. • 2007: Acquisition of 78% of Athena Cyprus Public Company Ltd. (“Athena”) • 2007/8: Opening of Representative Offices in St. Petersburg and Kyiv Ukraine. • 2009: The Bank obtains a license to conduct banking operations in Russia through the wholly owned subsidiary LLC Commercial Bank “Hellenic Bank”. • 2009: The Bank increases its participating interest in Athena to 93.55% and concludes a ‘squeeze out’ to acquire the remaining shares. It now owns 100% of Athena’s share capital with the ultimate aim of absorbing the subsidiary and incorporating its operations with those of the Bank. Group Milestones
