Assistant braking system • Increase of bus accidents in downhill slope ways • (Death toll): 7 (2010) , 15 (2011) , 5 (~5.2012) • (# of accidents): 21 (2010), 24 (2011), 10 (~5.2012) • (# of the injured): 128 (2010), 194 (2011), 215 (~5.2012) • Cause: standards of assistant braking system needs to be enforced • (target) retarder/exhaustion braking system • UN R 13 based on European road longitudinal gradient (12%) • Korean road gradient(17%) requires the current standards based • on UN R 13 to be enforced • Plan considered: enforcement of domestic standards and discuss the possibility to revise UN R 13 as needed. (0.5/0.6m/s2 →0.9m/s2)
