  2. Healing & Tissue Repair • Every second millions of your body cells are injured or die. • If it wasn’t for cell division replenishing those cells your body would shrink and eventually die.

  3. Growth • Cell division allows us to grow. • As we grow we increase in the amount of cells we are made up of and not the size of our cells. • Cells must maintain a certain size to survive.

  4. Reproduction • Cell division plays a large role in the reproduction of both unicellular and multicellular organisms.
