  1. Celebrate the Day of Love with Stories About India’s Beloved Couple – Radha Krishna. 20

  2. Out of all the stories we have heard about love since our childhood, there’s one that starkly remains with every one of us. That is the story of Lord Krishna and Radha, the most beloved love story from our Hindu mythology. The stories of Radha Krishna are one of the most retold stories in our culture. Everyone knows of the love between Radha and Krishna right from children to older people. All of the devotees are highly in awe of the antics of Radha and Krishna. Even today, many people keep Radha Krishna Brass Statues in their household shrines. Many stories perfectly represent the love between Lord Krishna and Radha, but some stories are unheard by us, and we must explore our Sanskrit Literature, which is one of the most precious treasures of stories about our beloved Gods. Hinduism has a great emphasis on the notion of love, and this is seen in the stories about Radha and Krishna. The love of Radha and Krishna has served as a model example of love for all couples, and ever since the Sixteenth Century, the story of Radha and Krishna has found a place in the world of art and appears as a motif in Indian paintings or as Beautiful Brass Idols of Lord Krishna and Radha. Lord Krishna and Radha’s allegorical love also found its way of expression through a lot of poetry and literature written about it.

  3. Their love initiates back to the time when Lord Krishna was a young boy and living in Vrindavan. Radha, daughter of Vrishabhanu, lived amongst the cowherds of Vrindavan. Lord Krishna and Radha were close since they were children, they played, fought, danced, and grew up together. They wished to stay together forever, Radha considered herself a devotee of Lord Krishna, but alas, the world pulled them apart. Lord Krishna departed to keep his honour and to safeguard his virtues, while Radha waited for him to return. While Lord Krishna was gone, he conquered territories, defeated his enemies, was coronated as the King and eventually earned recognition as a Lord of the universe. All this while, Radha patiently waited for him. Lord Krishna even got married and raised a family, and yet Radha waited for him as their love and connection were pious and eternal. Even today, Lord Krishna’s name isn’t taken without adding Radha. Many people argue about the truth of these stories about Radha and Krishna but we must understand that even though Radha and Krishna’s love was unfulfiiled, their connection is still regarded as the highest form of divine love. Their love has interested and inspired poets, authors, artists, painters, singers to adapt their love story as an expression of creative art. Radha’s devotion to Lord Krishna is regarded as the highest form of worship as she surrenders herself to Krishna without any inhibitions. Radha and Krishna’s undying love for each other is considered as the ultimate quest for a human to connect with the divine.
