  6. Principles of Worship • Everyone worships some-thing or some-one! • But most people miss the target when it comes to worshipping GOD - People assume they know what worship should be like. • But they either don’t know God • They don’t know how to worship Him • Or they don’t care to worship Him

  7. Meaning of Worship To Worship means to show someone’s worth! Ascribing great worth to a person • To honour – extol, lift-up, praise • To please • To bless • To love passionately with all the heart • To glorify – put all the attention on • To serve, gladly and whole-heartedly

  8. Worshipping God in Spirit • It is An Inner Worship • It is An Attitude • It is Consuming • A Good Example is Enoch

The Example of EnochGenesis 5:21-24; Hebrews 11:5,6 • He Walked with God • He Befriended God • He Loved God • He Pleased God! • He Thought about God – THEOLOGY • He Honoured God • He Served God To Enoch, God was not someone to constantly get forgiveness from, but someone to love, to know more and more, to walk with, and serve passionately True Worship

  10. Here’s a Secret … • Do you know how to get the victory over some sin in your life? • Change what you worship! Galatians 5:16

  11. Worshipping God in Spirit is Consuming (Ephesians 5:18) • You cannot worship God half-heartedly. By its very nature it is consuming • It is like driving at night • It is like cutting a diamond! • It is like falling in love! • Worship is not easy • Listen to these Scriptures • Psalm 34:1 • Psalm 104:33

True Worship affects ALL OF OUR LIFE… • It affects our Sanity (Isaiah 26:3) • It affects our Music (Psalm 30:11,12) • It affects our Families (Psalm 145:4) • It affects our Sleep (Psalm 63:6,7) • It affects our Marriages (Psalm 34:3) • It affects our Church (Psalm 22:22) • It affects our Jobs (Colossians 3:23) • If affects our Money (Matthew 2:11)

  13. Conclusion - How did God earn such an Inner Attitude of Consuming Worship? • By Seeking Us – not waiting on us to desire Him • By Taking Our Place in Death • By Offering us a Way Back to Him • By Just Being a Faithful God – It is His Middle Name!
