  1. Sam and Snowman By Ethan Hamilton

  2. Sam woke up with a jolt in his bedroom lying upside down on the floor. He carefully rubbed his eyes, stretched and lifted the blanket like a weightlifter lifting 13 kilograms off his body. 1

  3. Suddenly he remembered it was meant to snow. His heart began to beat out of control like a railway train. 2

  4. He leapt to his feet and speed walked to the frozen window being careful not to stand on any of his Lego creations. When he ripped open the brown curtains the colours of the world had turned white! 3

  5. Sam carefully took his pyjamas off, dumped them onto the floor and got changed into warm clothes he hardly ever wore. 4

  6. Sam’s brain was so busy with ideas he didn’t have any breakfast. All he could think about was his snowman. He gathered everything for creating an awesome snowman that was better than any other. 5

  7. Sam slowly walked outside and saw a great spot. He sprinted like a lion chasing after its prey and dove into the pile of snow. 6

  8. Sam gathered a tiny pile of snow and began to roll it into a massive ball. He did it three times, each ball slightly smaller than the previous. 7

  9. When he finished Sam carefully put one carrot, two twigs and three stones onto his body. The sun slowly fell behind the trees when he heard the horrible sound of his mother’s gruff voice say “Sam, bedtime!” 8

  10. Sam quickly tried to find a way to hide but it was no good, he had to go to bed. Once he had changed into his pyjamas, eaten his tea and brushed his teeth it was time for bed. 9

  11. Suddenly he heard a boom and a crash. Sam jumped out of bed and raced to look out the window where he saw his snowman saying “Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” 10

  12. Sam froze then carefully took his flashlight out of his drawer and shot the beam at his snowman. “Argh don’t kill me please!” said Sam’s creation, but it was too late. 11

  13. He was already melting. His head dripped onto his belly leaving the carrot like a flag on his head. 12

  14. From nowhere his last ball exploded BOOM! Sam watched the ice show quietly dancing around his bedroom where he crawled into his bed and slept happily ever after. 13
