  3. Securing appropriate people • Advertise- Newspaper, electronic • Former graduates • Current postgraduates • Undergraduate 4th years? • Word of mouth • Other schools in faculty or Universities • Research Assistants

Administration • Guide for casual staff-terms of employment • Employment Declaration • Part-time appointment details School • Appointment of casual academic Pay Office • Banking details • Casual Academic Timesheet • Parking permit and Staff photo, Library, email, office space and return of assignments protocols

  5. Tutorial Allocation Scheme • Must first get the Timetable correct • Helps spread the students evenly across the units • Set the upper limit at least 3 below what you will accept so that emergencies can be accommodated • Curwen system has capability to download the tutor groups

  6. Preparation of Tutor Kit • Unit outlines (spare copies) • Where materials are on the local area network or on the OLT site • Photos of tutors for OLT site • Weekly activities and OHT’s • Rolls, Meeting Schedule, assignment extensions, • What to do if the tutor is sick? • Spreadsheet for results at beginning of semester

  7. Tutorials Co-ordinator • List of contact details of all tutors including phone, mobile, email, co-ordination • Distribution when required, of essential materials for the tutorials • Exam revision materials • Issues between students and tutors • Takes email questions • Checks the OLT (QA) • Scheduled student access times

  8. Remuneration • HMS Draft Policy • For classes >200 students (8 to 15 tutorial gps) • 3 hrs / week for 13 weeks at demonstrator rates • >400 students (>15 tut gps) 6 hours pay at demonstrator rates for 13 weeks
