  5. Middle States helps to give us a vision for the future.

  6. Who will the Validation Team interview?

  7. They will interview students, staff, and administration.. ?

  8. Will they interview the parents?

  9. Yes, they will interview parents—anyone who is involved with the school.

  10. How will we know they are members of the AFG team?

  11. In addition to their name tags, they will be carrying a large “notebook” which we have prepared for them.

  12. What is our mission statement?

  13. Pond Road Middle School will provide a safe, nurturing learning environment to support the whole child. With the cooperation of the community, parents, teachers, and students, we will pursue excellence by providing challenging opportunities to maximize each student’s intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and creative potential. Our fundamental philosophy is that learning is a lifelong process through which we develop responsibility for ourselves and our actions.

  14. Will they ask me any questions?

  15. Yes, they will. Don’t let that make you nervous? Just be honest and relaxed.

  16. What if they ask me a question and I don’t know the answer?

  17. Just be honest. It’s not a test!

  18. Where will they work?

  19. They will be working in the Principal’s Conference Room.

  20. Why is it important that we know the Mission Statement and Beliefs?

  21. They define for the AFG team who we are. It is what PRMS is “all about”

  22. What are our goals?

  23. We are working on improving our writing skills and demonstrate increased responsibility, respect, and sense of community, as stated in the PRMS Mission Statement.

  24. Should we act any differently when they are here?

  25. No, just be yourself. Remember, that you are special!

  26. What if they ask me if they could ask a few questions?

  27. They will have “MSA passes with them. Make sure that you inform your teacher.

  28. How long will they be here?

  29. They are scheduled to be here for three and a half days.

  30. Will they eat lunch with us?

  31. Perhaps. They might eat in the lunch room with you. However, they also might invite you to have lunch with them.

  32. Why do they want to talk with us?

  33. They want to know your opinions about the school.

  34. What will happen before the visit?

  35. We will be letting you know about when they are coming.

  36. Will there be homework given during the visit?

  37. Absolutely!

  38. How many people will be at our school?

  39. Usually there is a team of three adults, and a Validation Team Chairperson.

  40. What is our school’s motto?

  41. Today’s learners…tomorrow’s leaders.

  42. How long does the visit last?

  43. The visit lasts three and a half days.

  44. Do we find out if we get our accreditation?

  45. Yes. We will have a special assembly and will announce it over the intercom.

  46. Is there any follow-up or is it over when they leave?

  47. Because we are committed to excellence, we will be examining our curriculum, interviewing students, sending out surveys, and “checking in” to make sure that we are providing the best education for our students.

  48. Will we ever see members of the Validation team again?

  49. Yes, they will be coming to visit our school in three years and again in 2014.
