  1. Introductory Material • The Galilean Name, Emblem, and Purposes • Why are the young men who participate in this organization called Galileans? Jesus spent the largest part of his ministry in Galilee. The people of the region became known for being followers of Christ.

  2. Why has the fish been chosen as the Galilean emblem? The Greek word for fish is Icthus which is an acronym for “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior”

  3. Give six purposes of the Galilean organization. • To help boys know each other in a Christian way • To offer boys an opportunity to learn Christ through a bible study. • To allow boys to learn about the church on all levels of operation- local, state, and national

  4. To help boys understand and give them an opportunity to support • World Missions of the BMAA • To teach to serve Christ through serving the church • To teach boys fellowship and the ability to work together

  5. The Galilean Motto MOTTO: “Follower of Christ, Leader of Others”

  6. Follower of Christ (1 Peter 2:21): “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that ye should follow his steps.” Leader of Others (1 Timothy 4:12): ”Let no man despise thy youth: but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

  7. Why does Peter say in these scriptures that we should follow Christ? • We follow his perfect example because he suffered for us. • How does Paul tell Timothy that he can be a leader of others? • That even though he is young he can be an example in his many virtues

  8. The Galilean Promise I______do solemnly and sincerely promise: 1. To worship In spirit and in truth and to serve God faithfully. 2. To pray and to study my Bible. 3. To be reverent at all times wherever I am. 4. To tell the others the message of salvation, and 5. To do or say nothing that would bring dishonor to Jesus, my church, or my family.

  9. The Galilean Colors and Attire • The colors of the Galilean organization are Navy blue and White. • (Write a color in each blank.) The official attire for a boy in the program is: • Navy blue trousers (pants) • White shirt • Navy Blue tie • Blue award sash with White stars

Initiations (when a new member enters the group), • 2. Award presentations • 3. Any other meeting your leader says so.
